Why I Created Byte My ADHD: How Tech Became My Lifeline with ADHD
Welcome to Byte My ADHD! This site was born from my own journey with ADHD—a journey full of challenges, learning, and, ultimately, hope for myself and others facing similar struggles. For years, managing everyday tasks felt overwhelming. Focusing was a battle, and the constant pressure to “just try harder” took a toll on my self-esteem. Through all of this, I discovered not only that I wasn’t alone, but also that there are real strategies and tools that can make life easier.
That’s where my passion for technology enters the picture. Tech isn’t just my hobby—it’s been my lifeline. From digital calendars and reminders to specialized apps, technology gave me structure and control over the daily chaos of ADHD. Even tools like voice notes and browser extensions have allowed me to break big, intimidating tasks into smaller, achievable steps. Each tech “hack” became a steppingstone to more self-confidence and less frustration.
Byte My ADHD was created so people don’t have to figure it all out alone. My goal is to share stories, honest reviews, and practical advice about how technology can help with ADHD—whether you’re newly diagnosed, supporting someone with ADHD, or just looking for new tools to try. Tech can’t eliminate ADHD, but it can empower us to work with our brains rather than against them, and to celebrate the unique strengths that come with neurodiversity.
Thank you for visiting Byte My ADHD. If these stories and tools help even one person feel less alone or more in control, building this site will be worth every byte.
Xoxo,
Valerie
